Ewan Mutch
Scotland
Ewan started drumming at the age of 10 for Eyemouth Pipe Band, and Duns RBL in the late 70’s and 80s before moving on to the Scottish Gas Caledonia G1 Band. In the mid-90s, he spent a couple of seasons “helping bands out” across the grades before feeling settled with The Pitlochry & Blair Atholl G3A Band. He had been very fortunate to have played in the drum corps winning The Worlds on 3 occasions, as well as other majors twice, and twice Champion of Champions.
After 40 odd years of competing in all grades, he finally put down the sticks in 2013.
Although his heart and spirit were engrained with Pipe Bands, he followed bands from afar from 2013 to 2025. He hadn't played or attended any contests due to work commitments with Artist Entertainment within Stage and T.V. After years of touring and many miles covered. He discovered The Big Rab Show and became an avid listener.
On hearing the plea for help, he felt he had the time to attend contests and, whilst there, he could help out as a videographer. Ewan also likes to dabble with composing Celtic and easy-listening music and really enjoying the pipe band world again.
